IWG Introduces Power Hour Mode

Offers players additional ways to win based on time of day

Instant Win Gaming (IWG), announced today the launch of Power Hour mode, providing lotteries the ability to offer their players additional ways to win based on time of day. Power Hour mode is the latest addition to the Company’s InstantBoost expanding feature set.

InstantBoost lets lotteries configure in-game actions that can be taken by players to enhance their game play. In-game actions are determined by the lottery during IWG’s configuration of a game. Examples include purchase at specified price point, play on specified day of the week or scanning a QR code from a retail ticket. Examples of the resulting boost features include experiences like the revealing additional win combinations, activating new prize tiers, and unlocking expanded bonus features.

InstantBoost Power Hour mode provides lotteries the ability to offer their players additional ways to win based on time of day. The Virginia Lottery’s Million Dollar Countdown is the first game to incorporate IWG’s new Power Hour feature. During standard hours players can win up to $250,000, and during Power Hours players can win up to $1,000,000. The shift from standard mode to Power Hour mode and back is automatic and occurs every day. This transition does not require any support from the Lottery or its system provider, as it is powered by InstantBoost which is fully contained within IWG’s InstantRGS (remote game server).

Rhydian Fisher, CEO at IWG, said: “Power Hour mode is an exciting new feature that gives lotteries a fresh way to engage their players by offering dynamic prize opportunities tied to specific times of the day,” said Rhydian Fisher, CEO of Instant Win Gaming. “We’re thrilled to have collaborated with the Virginia Lottery on this latest innovation, which enhances player excitement and boosts the gaming experience. By seamlessly integrating this feature into our InstantBoost framework, we’re providing lotteries with new ways to captivate their players without adding operational complexity.”

Scott Kenyon, Deputy Executive Director of Marketing at the Virginia Lottery, said: “Innovation is essential when trying to grow a mature iLottery program, and InstantBoost is an intriguing technology designed to enhance the player experience,” said Scott Kenyon, Deputy Executive Director of Marketing at the Virginia Lottery. “In collaboration with IWG, we were able to identify this unique use of InstantBoost and we’re excited to see it come to life with Power Hour mode in Million Dollar Countdown. We believe players will embrace this dynamic and rewarding experience.”
